A voice between two traditions

Sumaia Khanom Monika belongs to a generation of Bangladeshi artists who grew up between two musical
worlds — the Rabindra Sangeet and folk traditions that shaped Bengali identity, and the global pop and
indie music that arrived through a phone screen. She has spent close to a decade learning to move
between them without losing either.
